OUR MARKET
Blom’s customer base traditionally consists primarily of governmental, municipal and industrial offices. However, the Company has increased the focus on the commercial and private markets. The increased usage of internet combined with the continuous developments in technology gives enormous growth potential in the usage of GIS products for the private market in the near future.
Blom expects a substantial increase in the use of, and demand for, geographic information, ranging from image pixels with a geographic reference to data swarms for the development of terrain models. Combined, these geographic databases can be developed and used for different commercial services and products. Blom is working on a number of value-added solutions based on the company’s map databases through the use of advanced software, with particular focus on the telecom and navigation industry. In addition, Blom is in the process of building a unique pan-European library of digital map databases and terrain models for resale. In 2005 Blom entered into an exclusive agreement for the marketing and sales of Pictometry® in 23 countries throughout Europe. Pictometry® is a new pioneering digital photo and software technology that enables the users to view high-resolution digital color images (aerial photographs) of selected areas from optional angles.
Blom provides mapping services by means of aerial photogrammetry for the analysis, adaptation and presentation of data in various forms and products. In addition, Blom offers airborne laser scanning for establishing terrain and surface models for use in advanced 3D visualisation or analysis.
